Now, while it is no secret that we have a penchant for all things Scandinavian and pop related, we couldn't help but notice this empowering track from Swedish starlet Molly Sandén. The talented songstress' newest release is "Youniverse", a deftly crafted Nordic slab of orchestrated beats and rousing choral melodies.

It is clear that the superfluous dynamics and blueprints of Scandi-pop remain firmly entrenched within this behemoth. Uplifting lyrics and delightful energy ensure a commercial accuracy to detail as Sandén's keen eye has perfectly gauged where to be frenetic and where to nurture the Ibiza-hue bass warbles. It encourages those nonchalant memories of Loreen's "Euphoria" to bubble up and that in itself can only be a good thing. However, this song does deserve credit within its own right. What "Youniverse" does is to extract the piercing vocals of Sandén and funnel them into a soaring pop-ballad meets dance anthem of gargantuan proportions that pounds at your chest incessantly and we love it.

Finally after almost a year long hiatus we are back and it seems only fitting that our first post features someone else that has been on a rather extensive period of leave, Mr Anthony Gonzalez, the curative genius behind French outfit M83.

It has been almost five insanely painful years since 2011's album "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" but finally new album "Junk" will be released in April. Opening track "Do It, Try It" is everything we have come to expect from Gonzalez and his efficacious soirées into the electronic yonder. Sparkling discotheque keys bounce along to pinpoint vocals; trivial in places, hauntingly spectacular in others. This latest offering oozes Everything Everything meets The Whip circa 2009 but with razor sharp freshness and stylised guile. Each choral build-up is decidedly animated. Camp pigments drizzle across neon synths and a heady dance beat. Great compositions as always. Welcome back M83.
